SFO v Amec Foster Wheeler Energy Limited: Deferred Prosecution Agreement

Sasha Wass QC (for the Serious Fraud Office) and David Perry QC, Miranda Hill, Will Hays and Katherine Hardcastle (for the company, represented by Slaughter and May) were instructed on the successful conclusion of a deferred prosecution agreement between the SFO and Amec Foster Wheeler Energy Limited, a subsidiary of John Wood Group plc. This is the eleventh such agreement to be reached with the SFO and forms part of a US$177 million global settlement between the Wood Group and the SFO, DoJ, SEC, and Brazilian authorities.

The DPA only relates to the potential criminal liability of Amec Foster Wheeler Energy Limited and does not address whether liability of any sort attaches to any employee, agent, former employee or former agent of Amec Foster Wheeler Energy Limited.
