Contempt

6KBW College Hill’s members provide an exceptional level of expertise within the area of contempt of court, as demonstrated by the fact our members author Miller on Contempt of Court (4th ed., 2018).

We accept instructions in relation to all types of contempt matters. We have particular expertise in relation to civil contempt of court (breaches of court orders), and potential criminal contempt of court involving the media.

Our members also have experience in acting for the Attorney General’s Office, advising the law officers on whether to bring committal proceedings in cases involving all types of contempt, and are adept at working with the police and other authorities to manage investigations into potential contempt of court.
