6KBW College Hill is committed to making itself and the legal profession as accessible, welcoming, and supportive as possible for those interested in pursuing a career at the Bar. As part of that commitment, we welcome applications for mini-pupils, who will spend time shadowing one or more Members of Chambers.
Eligibility
Our mini-pupillage programme is open to anyone over the age of 18, who has left school or sixth form college. Priority will be given to the following:
- those in their final year of any university degree;
- those undertaking the GDL, LPC, BTC; and
- university graduates interested in pursuing a career the criminal Bar;
who do not already have pupillage or a training contract.
Each application is double marked by two Members of Chambers, who will be looking for evidence of your:
- academic ability;
- interest in 6KBW College Hill and our areas of practice; and
- interests outside of law.
If you think that there are any mitigating circumstances which apply in your case, please tell us about them in your cover letter.
Please note that we receive a high volume of applications for mini-pupillage, and the process is competitive. We cannot offer mini-pupillages to all who apply. If you are unsuccessful in one year, you are not precluded from applying again at a later stage, and we would encourage you to do so if you feel your application has improved in the interim.

Please note, unfortunately Chambers cannot reimburse travel and accommodation expenses for mini-pupillages.
We currently have a large backlog of mini-pupillage applications and therefore the earliest date for a mini-pupillage to take place will be October 2024.
