We are delighted to congratulate Rebecca Chalkley KC on being named The Times “Lawyer of the Week” for her outstanding work in the defence of American stand-up comedian Reginald D Hunter.
The case concerned a private prosecution brought by the Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA). At Westminster Magistrates’ Court, the summons against Mr Hunter was quashed, with the judge finding that the court had been deliberately and “calculatedly” misled by the private prosecutor.
Rebecca’s handling of this high-profile and sensitive matter once again demonstrates her exceptional expertise and advocacy at the highest level. She was previously named The Times “Lawyer of the Week” in April 2022 for the successful prosecution of Boris Becker.
