Following a trial at Bristol Crown Court, Pret a Manger were found not guilty of an offence contrary to the Food Safety Act 1990. The jury accepted that the company had taken all reasonable precautions and acted with all due diligence to prevent a customer being sold a sandwich which contained a substance to which she was allergic.
