Peter Ratliff was instructed in the prosecution of Daniel Kelley, who pleaded guilty to 11 charges, including involvement in the 2015 cyber-attack on TalkTalk where the personal data (including email addresses and bank details) of 150,000 customers was stolen. The total cost to TalkTalk following the cyber-attack by multiple hackers was estimated at £77 million.
Following three years of contested legal proceedings before the Old Bailey, Mr Kelley was sentenced on Monday to four years’ detention. The sentence brings to a conclusion a series of complex cybercrime cases prosecuted by Peter Ratliff.
