Today Mr Justice Nicol handed down his Judgement in the Libel claim Johnny Depp bought against the publisher of The Sun Newspaper and its executive editor, Dan Wootton who was represented by our Sasha Wass QC.
Three months after the high profile three-week trial, Judge Justice Nicol has now ruled that the tabloid’s report on allegations that Depp was violent towards ex-wife Amber Heard was “substantially true”. Accordingly, the Defendants’ defence of Truth was established and Mr Depp’s claim has been dismissed.
