Defendants acquitted in SFO’s sixth DPA case

Last week, following a two-month trial at Southwark Crown Court, Cansun Güralp, Natalie Pearce and Andrew Bell were acquitted of conspiracy to make corrupt payments to a South Korean public official between 2002 and 2015. The defendants were concerned with Güralp Systems Limited, an engineering company specialising in the production of seismic testing equipment. In October 2019, the Serious Fraud Office entered into its sixth Deferred Prosecution Agreement with GSL in relation to allegations of corruption and failing to prevent bribery.

John Ryder QC and Adam Payter represented Natalie Pearce, GSL’s Director of Sales.
