CCRC Referral – Tom Hayes

The case of Tom Hayes has today been referred back to the Court of Appeal by the Criminal Cases Review Commission. Tom Hayes was the first trader convicted of interest-rate “rigging” in 2015.

Katherine Hardcastle acts for Mr Hayes and a group of others convicted of LIBOR and EURIBOR “rigging”. In 2016, Katherine acted for Jay Merchant in his appeal (led by Jonathan Crow KC), in 2020, Katherine acted for Carlo Palombo (led by Tim Owen KC). For the past year, Katherine has worked with Tom, Jay, Carlo and others with a view to overturning the convictions (Katherine is led by Tim Owen KC).
