Rebecca Chalkley KC and Vincent Scully have successfully privately prosecuted four defendants at Southwark Crown Court for 13 counts of money laundering and conspiracy to defraud.
All defendants were convicted on all counts. The convictions followed a 7 week trial. The frauds were multi-million US Dollar and Euro investment frauds. The funds were laundered through accounts and sham companies in the UK, Germany, US, Croatia, Bosnia, Dubai and Hong Kong.
The defendants are to be sentenced later in the year (July 2026). Rebecca & Vincent were instructed by Michelman Robinson. The partner in charge of the case was Polly Sprenger.
