Judge quashes antisemitism case against comedian Reginald D Hunter

Rebecca Chalkley KC and Rabah Kherbane (Doughty Street Chambers), instructed by Sharon Toor at Kalber Struckley Toor Solicitors successfully defended the high-profile American stand-up comedian Reginald D Hunter in a Private Prosecution brought by the Campaign Against Antisemitism (“CAA”) in relation to three social media posts.

On 23 December, in a significant judgment, a judge at Westminster Magistrates’ Court quashed the summons against Mr Hunter, noting that he (the judge) had been deliberately misled in a “calculated” manner by the private prosecutor. The judge additionally found that the prosecution was abusive.

The judge’s full judgment can be found on the Judicial Office website here: https://www.judiciary.uk/judgments/the-campaign-against-antisemitism-v-reginald-hunter/
